SIMAKA GmbH, which attaches great importance to the environment, was given the great honor of attending the German Environmental Award as guests. This year, the event took place on October 30, 2016 at the Congress Centrum in Würzburg and was hosted by Judith Rakers. Together with his wife, Managing Director Karsten Uitz represented the SIMAKA team and was delighted to discuss the topics of sustainability, environmental protection and nature conservation with the award winners and other guests.
The German Environmental Award, which has been presented by the German Federal Environmental Foundation since 1993, is endowed with a total of €500,000 and is one of the most important independent environmental awards in Europe. Once again this year, the German Environmental Award was presented by Federal President Joachim Gauck, who emphasized the pioneering spirit of the award winners.
This year's winners of the German Environmental Award were Bas van Abel, who invented the "Fairphone", and Angelika Mettke and Walter Feeß, who turn demolition rock back into concrete. Managing Director Karsten Uitz is also enthusiastic about the ideas of the award winners, especially because the SIMAKA team itself has received several awards for its specially developed SIMACOVERY® technologies.
